Kanchanaburi, a great place to stop on the way to Thai-West

Kanchanburi is about 2 hours out of Bangkok.  Most famous for the “Bridge on the River Kwai”, Kanchanaburi offers some great train trips. They are cheap ($3 for a 6-hour trip) and take you across the famous bridge, and along the Kanchanburi River.
